CRITICAL THINKING
Subj: Critical Thinking
Task 4: Packaging
In this task we are required to research about packaging and make report about it in power point. This the link of the power point. After making the research then we are required to find package and find out what is wrong in the packaging and make new packaging after choosing the package that we want to redesign.
Critical Thinking: Packaging pp.
TITLE: PACKAGING DESIGN PROPOSAL
OBJECTIVE OF PROPOSAL: We are decided to make new packaging of the package of the soap package that you have now. We try to redesign the package to be reusable and more towards green.
USE OF THE DESIGN PROPOSAL/AIM: The design is to boost people towards green and reusable. The design also helping people to think about the paper wasting they done before by throwing away the package after taking the content. So I hope this design will change the way people thinking about eco product.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
1. Using the glue to sticks the packaging together.
2. The wastage of paper that we use to made the packaging.
THE HIGHLIGHT:
1. We want to change the usage of glue in sticking the paper together by making slot to connected the package.
2. We want to make the package by using recycle paper to lower the cost and the wastage of paper been made.
RATIONALE: This product is too made people aware of the wastage of the paper that use by making the packaging. This product also recycle and can reuse to put other thing and this will help people think eco and helping to reduce the deforestation.

20TH CENTURY DESIGN
CONCEPTUALISM
Conceptualism
is an idea. (Generally it taken to be an idea or reason how the work to be/
trigger the mind for the artwork. Concept may be relay to something that may or
not may related to the thing in past to developed the future. Concept and
object bring a different way of understanding. Concept can be something that functional
or something that can be aesthetics and object is mostly about the function and
the way to use.
For the
report, I had been doing this project in Design Studio-Conceptualization of form.
First, I use the hair roller as Lego. First concept is playing around the hair
roller to create form from connecting the hair roller around. Then, we were asked
to create from not functional form to functional form, so I created a clothes
stopper. This idea trigger because of the limited space of drying clothes in my
house and also how to stop the clothes bunch with others clothes. So I use the
hair roller by connecting them with string.
If I
decided to develop this prototype, 2 concepts that I should think of is about
the ecology and design problem space.
For
ecology, I need to change the materials that I use because plastic need longer
time to dispose and I should think of something that could help with the
problem that happen. First, we can use recycle hair roller that already break
or we can use another type of material. For me, I would like to use rattan or
bamboo because of my culture. For the string, I could choose a biodegradable
material or dye the string with the natural pigment that can be found in plants
or flowers. This is because, the string that I use is using chemical to bleach
to make it white or I can use rattan rope to connect each bamboo roller to
create the clothes stopper.
About
the design problem, is what measurement that I should have. “Should I make it
too long or comfortable with the user or should I use hook to connect it to the
wall or I should nail it permanently there?” Using this question, I need to make research about furniture design and famous artist that has a good design in this field of study or look about rattan furniture or artist that creating something from nature, for an example there are designer that created a bicycle from bamboo.

Writing for Designer
TASK 4: Design Word ( 20 design vocabulary and meanings )
- Font Family : also known as typeface is a set of one or more fonts each composed of glyph that share common design features. Each fonts has a specific weight, style, condensation, slant, italicization, ornamentation, and designer or foundry.
- Texture : Texture in art has two type. The first type is physical texture or actual texture are actual variation upon a surface such as rough surface or smooth surface. The second type of texture is the illusion of having physical texture. Every material and very support surface has its own visual texture and need to be taken into consideration before creating a composition.
- Sketches : is a rapidly executed hand drawing that is not usually intended as a finished work. A sketch may serve a number of purpose such as it might record something that the artist see or it might for record or to develop an idea.
- Color : is a visual perceptual property corresponding in human categories called red, blue, green or yellow. Colors deprives from the spectrum of light interacting in eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors.
- Photo manipulations : also called photoshopping is the application of image editing techniques to photograph in order to create an illusion or deception after the original photographing took place.
- Dark : is the polar opposite to bright, is understood to be an absence of visible light. It is also the appearance of black in colored space.
- Legible : also known as penmanship is a techniques of writing with the hand using a writing instrument. The various generic formal historical styles of writing instrument are called hands, whilst an individual's style referred to as handwriting.
- Perspective : in context of vision or visual perception, is the way in which object appeared to the eye based on their spatial attributes.
- Printing : is a process for reproducing text and image, typically with ink on paper using printing press. It is often carried out as a large-scale industrial process, and is an essential part of publishing and transaction printing.
- Bold : is a font style used to emphasis the size and text to make the word stand out for the audience.
- Thumbnail : are reduced size versions of pictures, used to help recognizing or organizing them, serving the same role for images as a normal text index does for word.
- Brainstorm : refers to brainstorming, a group or individual creativity exercise.
- Story board : are graphic organizers in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequences for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, or motion graphic sequences.
- Body copy : is the main articles or text that writes are responsible for is contrasted with display copy.
- Concept : is fundamental category of existence. That divided into three : as mental representation, abilities, and abstract object.
- Margin : is an area between the main content of page and the page edges. The margin helps to define where a line text begins and end.
- Hexagon : is polygon with six edges and six vertices. A regular hexagon has Schlafli symbol (6).
- Length : is the longest dimension of an object. in other context, length is a measured dimension of an object.
- Light : is the opposite of dark. The visible light is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye and is responsible for the sense of sight.
- Polygon : is a traditionally a plane figure that is bounded by finite chain of straight line segment closing in loop to form a closed chain or circuit. Those segment are called edges or sides.
